My family and I are so happy to be at Carey Baptist Church. I have been the pastor since June 1, 2023. I am excited to see how The Lord uses me in Childress County. 

A bit about my family: I married my wife, Mattie, on March 6, 2010. We have 4 wonderful children, 2 boys and 2 girls. God has blessed me richly. I surrendered to the ministry in 2012, and began my life as a youth pastor in June 2013. I spent 4 years in youth ministry before God called me to Senior Pastor. I began my first Senior Pastor position in 2017.

Monique was raised in Childress and was saved and baptized at the age of 5 at Kirkland Baptist Church where she learned to love the Lord. Her passion is teaching children to love our Lord and Savior by helping them to learn and understand the teachings of the Bible through reading and studying scriptures. She has enjoyed teaching children from preschool age through elementary age in choir, VBS, Kidzone, and in Sunday School for many years.

Monique has an Associate in Art degree from Clarendon College and graduated from West Texas A&M with a BA in General Studies and also received a Teacher Certification in Special Education. She currently loves being a homeschool teacher.

She and her husband, Clay, have raised two sons and two daughters and are enjoying being grandparents to their first grandson. Besides spending time with her family, and teaching, Monique has always had a passion for music and singing.
